My name is Sara and I am the therapist! I have been a licensed physical therapist since 2002. I graduated from University of Iowa with my masters in PT. I loved both undergraduate and graduate school in Iowa City, so much that when we decided to move back to Iowa, we knew we wanted to be close to Iowa City. I have a hubby that is also a therapist and two kids that keep me running.
This cash based/home based practice was born out of the idea that friends and family aren't seeking therapy unless things are REALLY bad. I have spent years giving tips and quick treatments that tend to help aging weekend warriors like me! I still highly value traditional therapy and still practice in the clinic 3 days per week. Starting to practice 2 days a week out of my home is allowing me more time to do ALL the things without feeling too stretched. In my decision to start Dry Needle PT North Liberty, I also felt like I had something to offer that is under utilized as a treatment. Not all therapists are certified in dry needling, not all insurance cover dry needling, not all therapists that are seasoned and feel confident in their skills. I have been dry needling for longer than many of the currently practicing therapists. I was certified in 2015. Fun fact: I was VERY pregnant when I took the course! Over the years, I have progressively needled more and more people with all sorts of dysfunction and issues. I see the benefits daily. I hope to help my friends and friends of friends and people in my community move and feel better in shorter periods of time than offered at the typical outpatient clinic.
